Maia Sandu calls on the EU to sanction corruption following the example of the USA: "It is a key priority in the fight for strengthening democracy"
"The phenomenon of corruption represents a direct threat to the security of the state and our democracy, and endangers the territorial integrity of the country, the well-being and the lives of citizens." The statement was made by the President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, during the European Partners against Corruption (EPAC) and European contact-point network against corruption (EACN), which held its work on Wednesday in Chisinau.
